Job Description

We are looking for a Legal Secretary to support a busy legal team in Saint Louis, Missouri in a Contract position. This role is well suited for someone who thrives in a fast-moving law firm setting, manages multiple priorities with accuracy, and communicates effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and office staff. The position focuses on litigation support, document preparation, and administrative coordination in an environment where responsiveness and attention to detail are essential.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, format, and proofread legal correspondence, pleadings, and other case-related materials from attorney dictation and recorded notes.
  • Manage electronic court submissions and maintain accurate filing records to ensure deadlines and procedural requirements are met.
  • Coordinate calendars for attorneys, including hearings, meetings, and case-related deadlines, while helping keep schedules organized in a high-volume practice.
  • Support litigation matters by assembling documents, reviewing materials for completeness, and assisting with case file organization.
  • Work closely with paralegals and attorneys to prioritize urgent requests and provide day-to-day administrative support across active matters.
  • Maintain physical and electronic files in an orderly manner so documents can be retrieved quickly when needed.
  • Provide backup assistance for front office or general administrative tasks when office coverage is needed.
  • Handle multiple assignments efficiently in a fast-paced insurance defense environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
The pay range for this position is 19 to 23 based on experience. Benefits available to contract/contract professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance.
