• Goldman, LLP New York, New York, United States (On-site)SaveApply Belkin Burden Goldman, LLP, a premier New York City real estate law firm located near Grand Central Terminal, is seeking a full-time Legal Secretary to join our administrative support team. We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and proactive professional to provide legal secretarial, administrative, document production, and reception support in a fast-paced law firm environment. The position supports attorneys across a broad range of real estate, leasing, financing, development, landlord-tenant, litigation, and related matters. This position is a traditional Legal Secretary role focused on legal administrative support, document production, proofreading, workflow coordination, and reception coverage. It is not a Legal Assistant or Paralegal position and does not involve carrying or independently managing a caseload. The successful candidate will work as part of a collaborative secretarial department supporting multiple attorneys and practice groups. Work assignments, attorney support needs, and workload levels vary depending on business needs and attorney requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to attorneys and practice groups. Provide reception and front desk coverage, including answering and routing incoming calls, greeting clients and visitors, documenting messages, and ensuring prompt follow-up by the appropriate personnel. Maintain consistent reception desk coverage and assist with general front-office operations. Draft, revise, format, proofread, and finalize legal documents, correspondence, notices, agreements, and other legal materials. Prepare and distribute documents through email, electronic filing systems, mail, messenger services, Federal Express, and other delivery methods. Maintain attorney calendars, deadlines, appointments, and contact information as needed. Organize and maintain electronic documents and correspondence within iManage and other document management systems. Assist with document production, scanning, copying, collating, assembly, and distribution of legal materials. Schedule conference rooms, assist with visitor management, and provide general administrative support. Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, courts, governmental agencies, vendors, and other outside parties. Coordinate with other members of the administrative support team to maintain workflow and departmental coverage. Adhere to Firm policies, procedures, confidentiality requirements, and document-management practices. Perform additional administrative and legal support responsibilities as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

3+ years of legal secretarial, legal administrative, executive assistant, or comparable professional office experience required. Experience with iManage or a comparable document management system. Experience supporting attorneys or legal professionals is strongly preferred. Experience in real estate law, landlord-tenant law, litigation, leasing, financing, development, or related practice areas is a plus. Familiarity with New York courts, governmental agencies, filing procedures, or the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal (DHCR) is helpful but not required. Advanced Microsoft Word skills, including document formatting, tracked changes, styles, automatic numbering, and document organization. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Adobe Acrobat. Excellent proofreading, grammar, written communication, and organizational skills. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Strong administrative, technical, organizational, and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Dependable, collaborative, responsive, and professional. This is a full-time, on-site position. The anticipated schedule is generally 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. or 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., based on departmental needs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience preparing or editing Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities. Experience creating, reviewing, or working with document comparisons, redlines, blacklines, and tracked changes. Familiarity with hyperlinking exhibits and documents for electronic court filings. Experience with DocuSign and electronic signature workflows. Experience preparing, organizing, and assembling legal filing or service packages. Notary Public commission is a plus. Why BBG?
