Job Description

Job Summary Also open to 4 days per week. The firm is a 100% plaintiff's personal injury practice that represents clients from inception to trial. The firm offers a great working environment and a competitive salary. Summary/Objective The secretary functions within a particular stage of the plaintiff's personal injury process, to ensure cases are proceeding accurately and timely, while the attorney handling the file.
Essential Functions:
Completes workflow and ensures tasks are timely completed; Identifies issues and escalates files to the team; Prepares case notes and Court documents prior to attorney appearances; Preparation and response to discovery pleadings; Coordinating attorney court appearance/scheduling and preparing for hearings; Preparing and sending legal documents to Court; Pulling court dockets/identify case status Competencies (
Ex:
Detail Oriented, technical capacity) Preferred 1-2 years of experience at a civil litigation law firm. Good communication skills is a plus . Dependable, organized, detail oriented, self-motivated individual who enjoys working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Must be proficient in Microsoft word and exchange. Experience utilizing Trial Works or Cloudlex is a plus. This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and scanners. Physical Demands This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. No travel is expected for this position. Required Education and Experience High School Diploma Paralegal Certification or Equivalent Experience Principals only.
