Job Description

Summary:
The Secretary II will provide typing, organizational and related support to management officials and assist associated staff members.
Essential Duties:
Determine extent and efficiency of existing office procedures and workflow and recommend changes in processing, order of work accomplishment, nature and/or extent of verifications. Establishes and maintains office files for staff use. Review incoming mail; determines priority and nature of material, procedural action required, and need for managerial review. Greet visitors and callers and determine nature of business. Refer visitors, callers, vendors, officials and representatives of other County, Court, local and private agencies to more appropriate office or individual for assistance. Maintain calendar for manager and/or other assigned staff; schedule appointments and meetings. Schedule conferences, coordinating participants' schedule; develop agenda from information provided by manager, prior schedules, or canvassing attendees for input. Type correspondence, reports, opinions, petitions, and similar narrative and material from recorded dictation, stenographic or other notes, handwritten drafts or other sources. Proofread such work and correct errors; may take stenographic or other notes of dictated correspondence. Compose routine correspondence such as cover letters, responses to invitations and referrals. Performs related duties as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Secretary II has no supervisory responsibility.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, the individual in this position must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skills and ability required.
Education/Experience:
Choose an item. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
