Flexible / Self-Directed to meet deadlines About the Role We are seeking an autonomous, highly organized Independent Contractor to provide comprehensive legal, operational, and executive support. This is a 1099 business-to-business contract position. While the day-to-day work is primarily virtual, the contractor must be physically based in Jefferson Parish, LA to handle occasional localized filings, physical asset coordination for our affiliate music academy, and executive courier/errand tasks. You will manage your own schedule, utilize your own remote office equipment, and deliver results across three distinct portfolios: Paralegal, Legal Operations, Music Academy Administration, and Executive Lifestyle Support. We are seeking a versatile Hybrid Paralegal & Executive Contractor (1099) to act as a right-hand operational partner. This is a multi-faceted contract role split between traditional paralegal casework (drafting, research, filings), business administration for the Agape Music Academy, and high-level personal assistance/errands for the Principal. Candidate must reside in Jefferson Parish, LA. Scope of Work & Deliverables 1. Legal Support & Paralegal Services (Primary Focus) Draft, review, and proofread legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence. Conduct legal research and manage case files digitally. Coordinate client communication and manage court calendars. Handle occasional physical filings or document retrievals within local Jefferson Parish courts and other LA parishes. There may be some TX legal work as well. 2. Agape Music Academy Operations Provide administrative, scheduling, and customer service support for the music academy. Manage student enrollment, billing inquiries, and digital scheduling platforms. Coordinate local logistics or vendor communications for academy events as needed. 3. Executive & Personal Assistance Provide high-level lifestyle support to the Principal, including calendar management and travel arrangements. Execute localized personal errands, courier runs, and logistics within the Jefferson Parish/Greater New Orleans area. May coordinate and plan in Texas locations.
Proof of principal residence/place of business within Jefferson Parish, LA is strictly required for local errand and court proximity.
Experience:
2+ years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant preferred. Experience managing small business operations or arts/music programs is a massive plus.
Legal Status:
This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position. The successful candidate will operate as their own business entity, provide their own computer/phone/high-speed internet, and be entirely responsible for their own self-employment taxes (Schedule C).
Tools:
Proficient with standard legal tech, Practice Panther, Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, and adaptable to music school scheduling software.
Reliability:
