Applicant must be proficient in Excel, detail-oriented, motivated, hard-working, responsible, organized, reliable, level-headed, and pleasant. Duties include document organization, internet research, and general assistance in all aspects of the litigation process. This is a good opportunity for someone who is on the path to law school and would like practical experience and an understanding of how a law firm operates.
Primary Duties Include:
Assisting Legal Assistants in organizing, indexing and maintaining case files, as well as all facets of the litigation process Indexing and coding production documents using various firm software programs Maintaining correspondence and pleadings Assisting in document productions, including copy checking, redacting and proofreading Maintaining both physical and electronic deposition files and databases Assisting with preparing and filing case documents with courts Providing administrative assistance on cases as directed Running errands to and from the courthouse, post office, and other locations in and around the Austin and surrounding Metropolitan area Creating and managing both paper and electronic case files
Qualifications & Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED; some college preferred 1-2 years of administrative experience working in a professional office Law firm experience preferred Excellent written and verbal skills High level of organization Ability to receive and execute verbal and written instruction with a high level of accuracy Highly skilled in Excel Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint Ability to learn software applications quickly Ability to lift up to 25 pounds Please submit your resume and a cover letter if you meet the qualifications above, and also include a line or two about why you are interested in this position.
