  • Downtown Houston Area A prestigious international law firm operating in over 20 cities is seeking a Litigation Legal Secretary to add to their team.
Candidates must have 5+ years of relevant litigaton experience within a law firm setting. Preferred experience within O&G, appellate work, and general complex litigation. This position offers benefits and a great work environment as well as paid parking. This position is 100% in the office.
Duties include:
Leadership & Participation :
Takes on leadership roles in team and firm projects. Assists with lawyer committee work, community service, and public relations activities.
Administrative Support :
Manages attorney's inbox, calendar, contacts, and client matter files. Routes internal/external mail and handles incoming electronic files (e.g., faxes, court filings).
Client File Maintenance :
Follows firm policy for managing electronic and hardcopy files. Ensures proper labeling, barcoding, and timely closing of client files. Maintains compliance with Records policy.
Electronic File Management :
Works with attorneys to store materials in iManage instead of personal folders. Provides assistance with organizing and filing electronic materials appropriately. Promotes paperless practices.
Document Production :
Creates, edits, and proofreads legal documents and correspondence. Drafts transmittal letters and memoranda. Ensures documents meet firm standards.
Scheduling & Communication :
Arranges conference calls, appointments, and meetings. Uses office equipment (fax, photocopy, video conferencing, scanning). Maintains up-to-date schedules and provides phone coverage as needed. Responds to client inquiries.
Event & Travel Coordination :
Coordinates meetings, teleconferencing, catering, and travel arrangements. Prepares expense reports and payment requests according to firm policy.
