July 21st, 2026 Legal Secretary Serving in an entry-level, complex secretarial capacity, this position provides essential administrative and paralegal support to streamline prosecutions within the County Attorney's Office. Key duties include drafting critical legal pleadings, coordinating discovery with defense counsel, managing complex court calendars, and preparing trials from witness subpoenaing to exhibit compilation. Working closely with law enforcement, probation officers, and state agencies, the Legal Secretary ensures strict adherence to court deadlines, case accuracy, and the highest standards of legal confidentiality. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by at least one (1) year of professional experience as a legal secretary, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience. Please note that recruitment at or advancement to higher levels within the Legal Secretary series will require additional years of progressively responsible experience.
Special Qualifications:
Applicants must demonstrate strong proficiency in keyboard and typing operations. Additionally, candidates must be willing and able to obtain commissions as a Notary Public and a Certified Prosecutorial Assistant, and they must consistently complete all required continuing education credits to keep these professional certifications active and in good standing. This full-time position offers $25.71 an hour, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package.
