Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of various areas of law, including Estate Planning, Probate Law, and Property law as well a general Civil Litigation. This role is crucial in providing administrative support to attorneys and helping to ensure the smooth operation of our legal practice. Duties Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and organizing meetings. Prepare and transcribe legal documents, correspondence, and reports with a high degree of accuracy. Maintain and organize case files. Assist in the preparation of court filings and ensure compliance with relevant deadlines. Familiarity with using Pierce County LINX is essential. Communicate effectively with clients (and potential clients), witnesses, and other legal professionals to gather information and provide updates on case progress. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while adhering to ethical standards in the legal profession. Experience Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar administrative role within a legal environment is preferred. Familiarity with Estate Planning (Wills, DPAs, etc.), Probate law, and Property law and general Civil Litigation is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while meeting deadlines. Proficient in legal administrative tasks including document preparation and dictation transcription. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective interaction with clients and colleagues. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite software applications and Timeslips and a willingness to learn new applications and programs. $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
