What You'll Do:
Responsibilities - Genetics & Breeding Program Collect and catalog genetic tissue samples. Perform data collection for selective breeding and genetics programs. Assist with fish spawning, fish sorting, and inventory management. Maintain genetics records and databases. Participate in genetic data collection events throughout Washington State. Support aquaculture research and development projects. Create, update, and maintain recordkeeping templates and reports. Assist production and fish health teams during spawning activities. Maintain genetics equipment and facilities. Adhere to all biosecurity and animal welfare protocols. Support breeding program operations and serve as backup support when needed. Fish Health & Animal Welfare Assist with fish health certification sampling. Conduct fish health and welfare observations. Perform water quality sampling and monitoring. Maintain treatment and antibiotic usage records. Support necropsy and fish health investigations. Assist with environmental compliance sampling. Prepare spawning solutions and chemicals. Hatchery & Quality Assurance Support Collect hatching and egg performance data. Monitor egg quality and hatch rates. Collaborate with hatchery teams to improve production outcomes. Prepare monthly quality control reports. Support continuous improvement initiatives. Skills and Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite. Accurate data entry and recordkeeping abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills. Ability to work in wet, outdoor, and all-weather conditions. Commitment to animal welfare, biosecurity, and safety standards.
