This position requires attention to detail and a solid understanding of medical terminology and coding systems to ensure that all transactions are recorded correctly. The ideal candidate will have experience in a medical office environment and familiarity with various coding systems, including ICD-10 and ICD-9. Duties Accurately post payments to patient accounts and insurance claims. Review and reconcile payment discrepancies, ensuring timely resolution. Maintain organized records of all transactions, including payment documentation. Collaborate with billing and coding departments to ensure accurate coding of services rendered. Utilize medical terminology to interpret explanations of benefits (EOBs) from insurance providers. Assist in the management of medical records related to payment processing. Stay updated on changes in medical collection practices, DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding, and relevant regulations. Requirements Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems, particularly ICD-10 and ICD-9. Familiarity with medical records management and payment collection processes. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry tasks. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Proficient in using healthcare billing software and systems. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. This role is essential for maintaining the financial health of our practice while ensuring that patients receive accurate billing information.
