We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Medical Insurance Billing Representative to join our healthcare team, providing high-quality patient care across diverse clinical settings. This position supports accounts receivable, payment posting, insurance verification, and prior authorization functions under the direction of the Billing Team Leader and the Director of Revenue Cycle Management. This role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency with billing and practice management systems, and the ability to work effectively across a teamwork environment. Duties Prepare and submit healthcare claims using billing software, ensuring compliance with insurance requirements and coding standards such as CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) coding. Review medical records and documentation to accurately assign medical codes, including ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding for diagnoses and procedures. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collections processes, working diligently to resolve discrepancies and secure payment. Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems. Maintain detailed records of billing activities, claim statuses, and correspondence within billing software and healthcare claims management systems. Communicate professionally with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients to clarify billing issues or obtain additional information. Stay current with healthcare regulations, insurance policies, and coding updates to ensure compliance and optimize reimbursement processes. Skills/Competencies Strong knowledge of health insurance policies, medical terminology, and healthcare claims management. Proficient with standard office software/hardware and electronic documentation systems. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. Proficiency in medical coding including
