In this role, you will be responsible for the timely submission of clean claims and the accurate posting of all insurance and patient payments. You will ensure our financial records are flawless by meticulously reconciling electronic remittance advices (ERAs) and explanation of benefits (EOBs) for both medical and vision plans. Key Responsibilities Medical & Vision Billing Review and code clinical data from patient visits for accurate optometric and ophthalmological services. Submit electronic and paper claims to medical payors (Medicare, Blue Cross, etc.) and managed vision care plans (VSP, EyeMed, Davis Vision). Verify proper use of modifiers, ICD-10 codes, and CPT codes specific to eye care (e.g., 92xxx and 99xxx series). Correct and clear clearinghouse edits and front-end claim rejections immediately to ensure steady cash flow. Payment Posting & Reconciliation Post insurance payments accurately from Electronic Remittance Advices (ERAs) and paper Explanation of Benefits (EOBs). Apply patient payments received via mail, online portals, or front desk collections to appropriate line items. Reconcile posted totals against bank deposits and daily log sheets to ensure 100% balance accuracy. Identify insurance contractual underpayments, overpayments, and incorrect patient liabilities during the posting process. Transfer remaining co-pays, deductibles, or non-covered balances to the patient's responsibility with clear note tracking.
