Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:30 PM About the Opportunity AlliedUP is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join a healthcare organization committed to providing high-quality care to the communities it serves. In this role, you'll support the revenue cycle by managing medical billing activities, verifying patient insurance eligibility and benefits, submitting and following up on claims, and helping resolve billing and reimbursement issues. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the healthcare billing cycle and experience working with PPO, Commercial, Medicare, and Medi-Cal insurance plans . This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment with multiple insurance carriers and billing requirements. Responsibilities Process and submit accurate medical claims to PPO, Commercial, Medicare, and Medi-Cal insurance plans . Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits with multiple insurance carriers. Review claims for accuracy and completeness prior to submission. Perform timely claim follow-up and communicate with insurance companies regarding outstanding claims. Research and resolve claim rejections, denials, and billing discrepancies. Assist with denial management and appeals as needed. Review EOBs, remittance advice, and payer correspondence to identify payment and claim issues. Maintain accurate billing records and documentation within electronic systems. Utilize EHR, practice management systems, payer portals, and clearinghouses to support billing activities. Identify and correct billing errors to help ensure timely reimbursement. Communicate with internal teams and insurance carriers to resolve billing and eligibility issues. Maintain compliance with HIPAA, payer requirements, and applicable healthcare regulations . Manage multiple billing tasks and priorities while meeting productivity and accuracy expectations. Qualifications Previous experience in medical billing, revenue cycle management, or a related healthcare billing role . Strong understanding of the medical billing and reimbursement cycle. Experience working with PPO, Commercial, Medicare, and Medi-Cal insurance plans . Experience verifying patient eligibility and benefits with multiple insurance carriers. Knowledge of claim submission, claim follow-up, denials, and appeals . Familiarity with EHR and practice management systems . Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to identify and resolve billing discrepancies accurately and efficiently. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of medical billing or revenue cycle experience. Experience working in a high-volume healthcare environment . Experience with FQHCs or community health centers is a plus. Experience with eClinicalWorks or similar EHR/practice management systems . Familiarity with clearinghouses and insurance payer portals. Experience with A/R follow-up, denial management, appeals, and insurance collections . Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite . Medical billing or revenue cycle certification is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Why Join AlliedUP?
