The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding of medical procedures, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding systems, as well as excellent communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare providers. Duties Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and government payers. Review patient records for accuracy and completeness before billing. Utilize coding systems such as ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG for accurate procedure coding. Manage accounts receivable, including follow-up on unpaid claims and resolving billing discrepancies. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical billing regulations and compliance requirements. Communicate with patients regarding their bills, payment plans, and insurance coverage. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper documentation is available for billing purposes. Assist in the management of medical records and ensure confidentiality is maintained. Experience Proven experience in medical billing or a related field is preferred. Familiarity with medical coding practices, including ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG systems. Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare regulations is essential. Experience with medical collections and working in a medical office environment is advantageous. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Excellent organizational skills and proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
