Job Description
We have an excellent opportunity for an experience Medical Biller to join our team. Family & Industrial Medical Center (FIMC) is the area's leading provider of primary care, walk-in urgent care, and industrial medicine. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Biller to support billing operations for a busy family practice and urgent care setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and efficiency. Key Responsibilities Submit accurate and timely claims to insurance carriers (commercial, Medicare, and others) Review and verify patient billing information for completeness and accuracy Post payments, adjustments, and reconcile accounts Follow up on unpaid claims, denials, and rejections to ensure timely reimbursement Resolve billing discrepancies and appeals as needed Communicate professionally with patients regarding billing questions and account balances Maintain compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific billing regulations Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure proper documentation and coding Qualifications Minimum 3+ years of medical billing experience (family practice and/or urgent care preferred) Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding Experience working with multiple insurance payers and billing guidelines Proficiency in medical billing software and EMR systems Familiarity with Athenahealth's AthenaOne system preferred Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently Exceptional customer service and communication skills
