Job Description

We are a growing, single-specialty rheumatology practice dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care. In addition to comprehensive rheumatologic services, we offer in-office infusion therapy, allowing us to deliver advanced treatments in a convenient and supportive setting. Our team is small, collaborative, and values a positive, family-like work environment.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Medical Biller with office management skills to join our team. This role is essential to the success of our practice, especially given the complexity of infusion billing and specialty care services. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing billing workflows efficiently while contributing to overall office operations. Medical assisting experience would be a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage medical billing processes, including charge entry, claim submission, and payment posting Handle insurance claim denials and appeals in a timely and effective manner Ensure accurate coding and billing for rheumatology and infusion services Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding claims Verify insurance eligibility and benefits as needed Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Strong knowledge of medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems Exceptional communication skills for interacting professionally with patients, insurance companies, and team members Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy in billing and administrative tasks Ability to manage office operations effectively while maintaining a positive attitude Prior experience managing staff or supervising office procedures is preferred Assist with office coordination and administrative tasks Maintain compliance with billing regulations and payer requirements Communicate effectively with providers, staff, and insurance companies
Qualifications:
Minimum 2-3 years of medical billing experience (rheumatology or infusion billing preferred) Strong knowledge of insurance claims, denial management, and reimbursement processes Experience with EHR and billing software Excellent organizational and multitasking skills Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team Office management or supervisory experience is a plus Experience with
EPIC EMR
