Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the billing process for medical services, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims, and facilitating smooth communication between healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients. Your expertise will help optimize revenue cycle management while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to efficient healthcare delivery through precise billing practices and exceptional customer service. Responsibilities Prepare and submit accurate medical claims using billing software, ensuring compliance with coding standards such as CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10 (International Classification of Diseases), and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) coding systems. Review medical records and documentation to verify the accuracy of diagnoses, procedures, and billing information. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims by communicating with insurance companies and patients to resolve discrepancies or issues related to healthcare claims management. Maintain detailed records of billing transactions, adjustments, and collections within electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software platforms. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper coding using ICD coding standards and update billing procedures in accordance with healthcare regulations. Assist patients with billing inquiries, explaining charges clearly and providing exceptional customer service throughout the collection process. Stay current on health insurance policies, medical terminology, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and accuracy in all billing activities. Skills A collaborative team player—teamwork is crucial for success in this role Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong knowledge of medical coding including
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, ICD
coding systems, and DRG classifications. Proficiency in medical billing software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems, and Microsoft Office applications. Experience with healthcare claims management processes from submission to resolution. Excellent understanding of health insurance policies, medical terminology, and medical records management. Ability to interpret complex medical documentation accurately for billing purposes. Exceptional customer service skills with a professional approach to patient interactions. Attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills to manage multiple claims efficiently.
