Job Description

Women's Health Connecticut is seeking a full-time, Medical Biller at Women's Healthcare of New Milford!

Full-time, 40 hours per week (on-site)

Monday- Friday, 8:00am- 5:00pm Reports to :
Practice Manager Position Overview:
The Medical Biller/Coder is responsible for sending invoices and account updates to patients, receiving, sorting and tracking incoming payments, addressing and resolving patient questions and issues related to invoices. The Billing Specialist is detail orientated and skilled in analyzing data, communicating effectively and collaborating as a team.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Properly code medical services, diagnosis, treatments and more Receive and review encounters from providers/practice Accurately and efficiently enter charges and adjustments Insurance verifications Act as a liaison between insurers and patients Collect out of pocket responsibilities due by patient and balances Maintain and respect confidentiality of PHI (protected health information) and abide by HIPAA laws and medical policies Conduct audits to confirm all services were billed appropriately Correct rejected insurance claims and coding errors Achieve maximum reimbursement for services provided Keep current on informational changes and billing procedures Submit billing data to the appropriate insurance Adhere to all corporate compliance mandates and guidelines Inform supervisor of consistent issues when identified Assist in answering incoming phone calls Additional administrative duties and task assigned by leadership
Required Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent AAPC or CPC is preferred 1-3 years of experience as a medical billing and coding specialist Computer and technical proficiency Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills Knowledge of
CPT, ICD-10

Pay:
$21.28 - $26.78 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
