Responsibilities Prepare and submit accurate healthcare claims using billing software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems Review medical records to ensure proper coding with CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), and ICD coding standards Follow up on unpaid or denied claims promptly to maximize collections and reduce outstanding balances Communicate effectively with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries and payment issues Maintain detailed records of all billing transactions, adjustments, and collections in compliance with healthcare regulations Stay current with healthcare claims management practices, health insurance policies, and medical coding updates Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient questions related to bills and explaining insurance benefits clearly Qualifications Proven experience in medical billing and collection processes within a healthcare setting Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and health insurance procedures Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, billing software, EMR/EHR systems, and healthcare claims management tools Familiarity with CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards, DRG classifications, and ICD coding practices Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in billing and coding tasks Ability to handle sensitive patient information confidentially in accordance with HIPAA regulations Exceptional communication skills to effectively liaise with insurance providers, patients, and team members Join us as a Medical Biller/Collector and contribute your expertise to streamline our revenue cycle while delivering outstanding service.
