This part-time position is ideal for an experienced medical billing professional who enjoys working independently while contributing to an efficient, patient-focused office. A Certified Professional Coder (CPC or CPC-A) is preferred. Experience with personal injury claims and reimbursement guidelines is a plus. Responsibilities Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits Review, code, and submit insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner Investigate and resolve claim denials and payment issues Post insurance and patient payments, adjustments, and write-offs Prepare and process patient statements Follow up on unpaid insurance claims and patient balances Maintain accurate billing records and documentation Ensure compliance with payer requirements and billing regulations Communicate professionally with insurance carriers, patients, and office staff to resolve billing questions
Qualifications Required:
Previous experience in medical billing and coding Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding Understanding of PIP and Medicare reimbursement processes Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred:
