Job Description

Applicant must be capable of following claims processing, appeals, denials, and able to contact payers to inquire about the status of claims. Applicant must be able to comprehend and convey to patients various billing issues in a professional manner Must have medical collections experience. Medical coding experience is a plus. As a collection specialist, displaying professionalism and reliability is essential. You should be able to balance maintaining trustful relationships with our patients and ensure timely payments. Possessing outstanding communication and negotiation abilities, along with the capacity to operate autonomously, is crucial. The ability to work independently is a must
Responsibilities:
Regularly review accounts to identify outstanding debts. Investigate historical data for each debt or bill. Find and contact clients/patients about their overdue payments. Applicant must be able to comprehend and convey to patients various billing issues in a professional manner. Handle the processing of payments and issuance of refunds. Address issues related to billing and customer credits. Keep account statuses and collection attempts up to date. Provide updates on collection activities and the status of accounts receivable.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated expertise in a Billing and Collection Specialist role or a comparable position. Understanding of billing procedures and effective collection strategies, such as skip tracing. Awareness of legal statutes governing debt collection, such as the FDCPA. Proficiency in MS Office and database software. Ability to meet and work with financial targets. Patience and the capacity to handle stress effectively. Exceptional communication abilities, both in writing and verbally. Competence in negotiation. Aptitude for solving problems. A high school diploma is required.
