Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accuracy in coding, and facilitating timely collections. Duties Accurately process and submit medical billing claims using appropriate coding systems including CPT, and ICD-10. Review and verify patient information and insurance details to ensure correct billing. Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid claims and resolving discrepancies with insurance companies. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to maintain accurate patient records. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses or procedures that may require additional information for billing purposes. Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations, coding practices, and insurance policies to ensure compliance. Maintain organized medical records and documentation as per legal and regulatory requirements. Requirements Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or related roles within a medical office setting. Proficiency in DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding and familiarity with CPT and ICD coding systems. Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare processes. Experience with EMR/EHR systems is highly desirable. Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively. Ability to communicate clearly with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives regarding billing inquiries. Knowledge of medical collection processes is a plus but not mandatory.
