In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately entering and managing medical billing data for inpatient, outpatient and nursing home charges, ensuring seamless claims processing, and supporting the overall revenue cycle. Your expertise will help facilitate timely reimbursements, maintain precise medical records, and uphold the highest standards of healthcare claims management. Responsibilities Enter and verify medical charges using billing software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems with precision and efficiency. Review medical documentation to ensure accurate coding using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-10, and ICD coding standards. Assign appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services to facilitate correct billing and reimbursement processes. Manage healthcare claims submissions, follow up on unpaid or rejected claims, and perform collections on outstanding balances. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation or coding discrepancies to optimize revenue capture. Maintain comprehensive medical records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy standards. Utilize Microsoft Office tools for reporting, data entry audits, and record keeping as needed. Skills Strong knowledge of medical coding including CPT, ICD-10, and ICD coding practices. Experience with medical billing software, EMR/EHR systems, and healthcare claims management platforms. Familiarity with health insurance policies, medical terminology, and medical records management. Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with providers, insurance companies, and patients. Ability to interpret complex medical documentation accurately for billing purposes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting tasks. Knowledge of medical collection procedures and healthcare reimbursement processes.
