Duties Assist with food preparation tasks, including slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients following recipe guidelines and safety standards Operate basic kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, and food processors with proper safety protocols Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, equipment, and storage areas to meet sanitation requirements Support meal assembly and plating processes in accordance with menu specifications and presentation standards Follow food handling procedures diligently to ensure food safety and prevent cross-contamination Help with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying staff of stock levels or shortages Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks efficiently and uphold a positive team environment Qualifications Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques preferred Knowledge of safety standards in food production and food handling practices essential for maintaining hygiene Experience operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently is advantageous Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen team members Ability to follow recipes accurately and adhere to meal preparation guidelines Basic knife skills including slicing techniques are beneficial Previous restaurant or catering experience will be considered an asset Demonstrated understanding of food safety management systems and proper sanitation procedures This energetic role invites motivated individuals eager to develop culinary skills while ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming kitchen environment.
