With more than thirty years of experience in servicing the laboratory needs of the medical community, our people continually exceed our clients' quality expectations. NICL Laboratories is currently looking for an organized and experienced Medical Biller to join our organization. The Medical Biller will be responsible for updating patient and insurance information and initiating payment processes and procedures. The Medical Biller will complete and submit claims to commercial and/or government carriers. The Medical Biller will also be responsible for posting electronic payments as well as processing of explanation of benefits obtained from multiple insurance companies. The Medical Biller may also be asked to perform general administrative duties. Listed below are the duties/responsibilities and qualifications of the ideal
Medical Biller:
Well-versed in billing software, medical insurance regulations, and adequate knowledge of current Medicare and Medicaid ACA guidelines Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Health Care Administration, Finance, Business, or related field preferred Familiar with ICD-10 and CPT coding; knowledge of medical terminology will be helpful Ensure patient information is accurate and complete Excellent verbal and written communication skills Basic understanding of patient collections Able to multi-task, prioritize and manage time efficiently Able to create insurance disputes/appeals Strong customer service skills and comfortable answering both patient and insurance company inquiries/questions Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions Self-motivate and self-directed; able to work with less supervision Able to assist in client billing and able to perform client collections when necessary
