Position Summary The Medicaid Insurance Biller will be responsible for accurate and timely billing and follow-up of Medicaid claims, helping ensure appropriate reimbursement for services provided. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of medical billing processes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Prepare and submit Medicaid claims accurately and timely. Review claims for accuracy and required documentation prior to submission. Monitor unpaid, denied, and rejected claims and complete necessary follow-up. Research claim issues and work to resolve billing discrepancies and denials. Maintain knowledge of Medicaid billing requirements, regulations, and payer guidelines. Communicate with Medicaid representatives, patients, and internal departments to resolve account issues. Review patient accounts to identify additional information needed for claim processing. Document billing and follow-up activity accurately within the patient accounting system. Assist with other Business Office functions as needed. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or certification in Medical Billing preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in hospital billing or a related healthcare insurance role preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnosis coding (ICD-10). Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) and healthcare billing software (e.g., Meditech). Strong understanding of insurance procedures and medical billing compliance.
