Medical billing Medical terminology Full Job Description Medical coder/biller with some front desk responsibilities is needed to join Nephrology practice.
Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze medical documentation to ensure accurate and timely billing
  • Assign appropriate medical codes (ICD-9, ICD-10) to diagnoses and procedures
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and process claims for reimbursement
  • Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve billing discrepancies
  • Maintain patient records and update information as necessary
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain missing or incomplete documentation
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in medical coding regulations and guidelines
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred
  • Proven experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing procedures
  • Familiarity with DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding is a plus
  • Proficient in using medical billing software and electronic health record systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
