In this role, you will be responsible for managing the billing process for DME diabetic footwear, ensuring accurate coding, timely submission of claims, and effective follow-up on outstanding payments. Your expertise will help streamline revenue cycles, improve cash flow, and enhance patient satisfaction through precise and efficient billing practices. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic healthcare environment while utilizing your strong medical billing skills. Duties Prepare and submit accurate healthcare claims for DME products using billing software. Ensure proper coding of procedures and diagnoses using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, ICD coding, DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), and other relevant coding systems. Collect and review medical records and documentation to verify the accuracy of billing information and compliance with healthcare regulations. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective collection strategies and communication with insurance companies. Maintain detailed records of billing activities, payments, adjustments, and collections within medical billing software. Stay updated on health insurance policies, medical terminology, and changes in medical coding standards to ensure compliance. Requirements Proven experience in medical billing, preferably within a small business in a point-of-sale setting specializing in DME. Strong knowledge of healthcare claims management, health insurance processes, and medical coding including CPT, ICD-9/10, DRG, and ICD coding systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, billing software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR systems. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare regulations related to billing practices. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with insurance providers, patients, and healthcare staff. Ability to analyze complex medical documentation for accurate billing and coding purposes. Knowledge of medical collection procedures to follow up on unpaid claims efficiently.
  • Pay range is based on experience in DME specialty and billing software.
Pay:
$18.00
