The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding, and maintaining patient records. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to navigate medical billing software efficiently. The Medical Biller will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate billing for services rendered. Responsibilities Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies and government payers. I.E., Medicare, Blue Shield, UHC, Aetna Review patient records for accuracy and completeness before billing. Utilize coding systems such as ICD-9 and ICD-10 to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures. Follow up on unpaid claims and manage the medical collection process. Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients regarding billing inquiries. Maintain organized medical records and ensure compliance with regulations. Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices. Qualifications Proven experience in medical billing and payment posting, preferably within a medical office setting. Familiarity with medical terminology and coding systems (ICD-9, ICD-10). Strong understanding of medical collections processes. Proficient in using medical billing software and systems. Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
