Title:

Medical Biller (Part Time)

NON-EXEMPT JOB REPORT TO

Office manager/Clinical lead

PURPOSE:

Maintaining billing software, dropping and appealing denied claims at Emmaus Health practice setting which includes primary care, OB/GYN, and mental health services.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or GED, preferably experience with medical billing or similar role.

KNOWLEDGE

HIPAA and regulatory policies Computer systems and software to promote functioning within the organization Safety hazards and precautions to establish and maintain a safe working environment Resources and information available to patients

DUTIES & RESPONSBILITIES

Prepare and submit billing data and medical claims to insurance companies Ensure the patient's medical information is accurate and up to date Follow up on missed payments and resolve financial discrepancies Investigate and appeal denied claims

EXPERIENCE

One year minimum preferred as a medical biller or similar role. Athena (EMR system) experience preferred Primary Care, OB/Gyn, and mental health experience preferred

CERTIFICATE / LICENSE

Biller/Coding certification preferred

$16.00 - $20.00 per hour
