Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Medical Biller with a specialized focus on Psychiatry and VA to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately processing and managing medical billing and coding for psychiatric services, ensuring timely reimbursement and compliance with industry standards. Your expertise will help facilitate smooth financial operations within our mental health practice, supporting both patient care and organizational efficiency. Duties Prepare and submit accurate medical claims, adhering to insurance guidelines and coding standards related to Professional Services. Review as needed, medical records to verify diagnosis codes (ICD-9, ICD-10) and procedure codes (CPT coding), ensuring proper documentation for billing purposes. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collection efforts, resubmitting or appealing as necessary to maximize revenue. Maintain comprehensive records of billing activities, claim status updates, and payment histories for audit readiness. Stay current with industry changes in ICD coding updates, CPT guidelines, and insurance policies to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Review and interpret psychiatric clinical documentation to assign appropriate CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes for billing purposes Requirements Proven experience in medical billing with a focus on psychiatry or mental health services. Experience with county plans (PCE system) Strong knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems Familiarity with medical terminology related to psychiatric diagnoses and treatments Experience working with Athena and
EPIC - EMR/EHR
systems for billing and record management Excellent understanding of medical records management, insurance claims processing, and collections procedures Ability to interpret complex medical documentation accurately and assign correct codes accordingly Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in all tasksJoin us if you're eager to contribute your expertise in medical billing within a supportive environment dedicated to mental health excellence.
Pay:
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour
