Job Description

Job Summary:

Our growing dermatology practice is looking for an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our team! We are seeking someone familiar with ICD-10 coding, with excellent communication and computer skills and a passion for patient care. This role requires the ability to work independently while also collaborating within a team setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Review daily charges and ensure accurate billing of claims
  • Review patient accounts and assist with balances and payment arrangements
  • File appeals and corrected claims when needed
  • Run weekly billing reports and manage extensive data in Excel to generate reports
  • Collaborate with other staff to address billing
  • related issues and improve processes
  • Communicate with patients regarding billing questions and insurance coverage
Qualifications:
  • 2 years of experience in relevant medical billing
  • 2 years of experience with ICD-10 coding
  • 1 year of experience in analytics and Excel reporting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of insurance policies and carrier requirements
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail
  • Inquisitive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage multiple tasks Preference given to candidates with:
  • Dermatology billing experience
  • Certified Medical Coder (CMC, CPC, or equivalent)
Training & Development:

We provide one

  • on•one training at the employee's pace along with online training manuals.

Employees will also complete a certified dermatology coding course after the first year of employment, leading to CDC certification upon completion.

Training Location:

Candidates must be available to inter and train at our Portage Michigan location.
