In this vital role, you will serve as the primary liaison between patients, outside dental referring offices, and insurance providers, ensuring accurate verification, coding, and claims processing and AR management. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute to the smooth operation of our dental practice, fostering a welcoming environment for both staff and patients. Responsibilities Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to appointments, ensuring all information is current and accurate. Manage insurance claims submissions, follow-up on outstanding claims, and resolve denials efficiently to maximize reimbursement. Review medical records and documentation to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper coding standards. Utilize CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems to accurately code procedures and diagnoses for billing purposes. Collaborate with dental office staff to coordinate insurance-related patient communications and clarify coverage details. Maintain meticulous records of medical terminology, insurance verification logs, and claims processing activities. Stay updated on managed care policies, insurance plan changes, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and optimize reimbursement processes. Skills Strong knowledge of managed care systems and dental insurance protocols. Prior experience in a medical or dental office setting with familiarity in medical records management. Proficiency in HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient confidentiality at all times. Expertise in CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding for accurate billing procedures. Excellent office experience with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to interpret medical terminology accurately for documentation and coding purposes.
