Job Description
Summary Patty Vision Center of Burlington is a growing practice looking for a detail-oriented professional for a full-time position. The ideal candidate will have experience in insurance and share our focus on prioritizing superior patient care. We are a high-volume, fast-paced practice. The ideal candidate must be able to multitask efficiently, prioritize responsibilities, adapt quickly to changing demands, and work collaboratively with all team members to ensure an outstanding patient experience and smooth daily operations. The person in this position would be responsible for submitting billing claims to insurance companies, posting insurance payments, verifying and reconciling payments, making deposits, verifying insurance, and answering patient questions about insurance. General office duties would also include answering phones, scheduling appointments, and interacting with patients. Strong computer and organization skills as well as attention to detail are necessary. An openness to cross-training in other areas and the ability to multitask are also needed in order to work in a team environment. Our practice strongly believes in a highly patient-focused approach, so good communication, professionalism, and customer service skills are a must. Behavioral Attributes Knowledgeable on insurance and reimbursement processes. Good math and data entry (typing) skills. Exercises good judgment and discretion. Familiarity with HIPAA privacy requirements for patient information. Maintains and protects confidential information. Proficient in use of computers and common office equipment. Good verbal and written communication skills. Basic understanding of medical ICD 10 codes and CPT medical billing codes. Good telephone and patient relation skills. Detail-oriented and able to prioritize work. Ability to work with minimal direction and oversight. Education High School Diploma or GED. Post-secondary education in a related field and/or 1 to 2 years work experience preferred.
