Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking an experienced medical billing and collections specialist to join our healthcare team. Applicants must be highly motivated, detail oriented, and have at least 2 years of experience in medical billing. Well qualified candidates will be offered competitive compensation, health insurance, disability insurance, 401k, profit sharing and generous PTO. Only qualified applicants will be considered. Duties Prepare and submit accurate medical claims using billing software, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and insurance requirements Review medical records and documentation to assign appropriate ICD-10 and CPT coding for procedures and diagnoses Follow up on unpaid or denied claims promptly by communicating with insurance carriers and resolving discrepancies Collect outstanding balances from patients through phone calls, emails, or payment plans while maintaining excellent customer service standards Maintain detailed records of billing activities, adjustments, collections, and correspondence in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical records Stay updated on changes in healthcare claims management, health insurance policies, and coding guidelines to ensure accuracy and compliance Collaborate with medical office staff to verify patient information, insurance details, and coverage limits before billing Qualifications Proven experience in medical billing and collections within a healthcare setting Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding and healthcare claims management processes Proficiency with billing software, EMR/EHR systems, Microsoft Office suite, and other relevant healthcare technology tools Familiarity with health insurance policies, medical records management, and medical office procedures Excellent communication skills with a customer service-oriented approach to patient interactions Ability to interpret complex medical documentation accurately and work efficiently under deadlines Knowledge of medical coding standards and billing regulations to ensure compliance Join us in delivering exceptional services that support outstanding patient care!
