This person uses their knowledge of Ambulance (ground and air) coding and billing to ensure correct claims are created and paid.

Required Qualifications:

Certified Ambulance Coder Certification High School education or GED Medical Terminology Good communication skills - written and verbal Collaborative Process oriented

Preferred Qualifications:

CPC Two (2) years' experience with ambulance coding and/or billing

Duties and Responsibilities:

Registration of ambulance encounters Assignment of

CPT/HCPCS

codes in accordance with all current coding guidelines Entry of charges for ground transport Billing to and collections from all third-party payers Ensuring goals and objectives established by leadership are met Responsible for identifying denials and submitting appeals as appropriate Identifying trends and making recommendations for improvements Professional appearance and behavior at all times Other duties as assigned and overtime as requested or required
