Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant/Biller, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care while ensuring accurate and efficient medical billing processes. This energetic position combines clinical support with administrative expertise, offering a rewarding opportunity to contribute to patient health outcomes and streamline revenue cycle management. You will work closely with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to facilitate seamless operations within a fast-paced medical environment. Duties Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, vital signs, and medical documentation to ensure smooth clinical workflows. Complete wound culture paperwork, prepare for pick up and track results. Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked and organized. Manage patient records accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) maintaining confidentiality and compliance. Enter charges for Wound Care Center and Nursing home services using billing software, ensuring proper coding with CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10 coding standards. Verify patient insurance coverage, explain health insurance policies, and address billing inquiries with professionalism and clarity. Maintain detailed medical records, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and support audits by organizing documentation efficiently. Acknowledge incoming medical record requests, submit records as required. Proven experience in a medical office setting with familiarity in medical terminology, medical coding (CPT, ICD-10), and billing procedures. Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems, billing software, and Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting purposes. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly. Venipuncture experience a plus. Importing of pictures from email into EMR. Bi-lingual applicate is preferred
