In this role, you will be responsible for managing the billing process for optical services, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims to insurance companies and patients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of healthcare claims management, medical coding, and medical records, contributing to the financial health of our organization while maintaining compliance with industry standards. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment where precision and customer service are paramount. Duties Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using billing software, ensuring compliance with coding standards such as CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), Medical Coding. Review medical records and documentation to verify the accuracy of billing information and ensure proper medical coding. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims by communicating with insurance providers and patients to resolve discrepancies. Maintain detailed records of billing transactions, payments, adjustments, and collections within electronic health record (EHR) and electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify billing details and ensure correct documentation for reimbursement. Manage medical collections by contacting patients or third-party payers to secure outstanding payments. Generate reports on billing activity, outstanding balances, and collection efforts using Microsoft Office tools for management review. Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries regarding bills and payment options professionally. Qualifications Strong knowledge of health insurance processes, healthcare claims management, and medical terminology. Proficiency in billing software applications as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel). Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for accurate record keeping and data entry. Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in billing procedures. Knowledge of medical records management and compliance standards related to healthcare billing. Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.
