Our Medical Billing & Patient Accounts team helps ensure that our patients receive compassionate service while their insurance and billing needs are handled accurately, efficiently, and professionally. We are looking for a full-time Medical Billing & Patient Accounts Representative to join our team. This position plays an important role in supporting our pediatric clinic by helping patients and families navigate billing and insurance while keeping patient accounts accurate and up to date. What You'll Do Process daily insurance claims, payments, adjustments, refunds, and patient payments. Verify insurance coverage and maintain accurate patient and insurance information. Work with Medicare, Medicaid, Workers' Compensation, and commercial insurance plans. Review and resolve denied, partially paid, and incorrectly processed claims, including filing appeals when needed. Answer patient billing questions and assist with payment plans. Generate and review patient statements and follow up on past-due accounts. Manage appropriate collection activities and communicate with guarantors. Maintain accurate account records, billing notes, and financial documentation. Identify and report insurance contractual differences. Answer incoming clinic calls and assist with general administrative duties. Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA and clinic financial policies. What We're Looking For At least 1 year of previous experience in medical billing, patient accounts, or healthcare insurance is preferred. Demonstrates a high level of integrity, honesty, and discretion when handling financial and confidential patient information. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Comfortable working with numbers, insurance information, and financial records. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good judgment when handling patient accounts and collection matters. Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
