Growing Eye Care Team:

We are a locally owned, growing optometry practice with two Sioux Falls locations seeking an experienced Medical Biller/Insurance Specialist to join our team out of our main location.

The ideal candidate has experience with medical billing and coding, insurance eligibility and benefits verification, claims submission, and accounts receivable follow-up. Optometry or ophthalmology experience is preferred, but candidates with a strong medical billing background who are willing to learn eye care billing are encouraged to apply.

This is a key role in both the financial health of our practice and the patient experience. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, comfortable researching insurance benefits, and able to clearly communicate coverage and patient responsibility to both patients and our team.

Required Qualifications:

Previous medical billing and/or medical coding experience is required, preferably with experience in optometry or ophthalmology. Working knowledge of medical insurance terminology and reimbursement. Ability to research insurance benefits when coverage is not immediately apparent. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and note-taking abilities. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy medical practice. Comfortable communicating with insurance companies and patients regarding benefits and financial responsibility. Dependable, accountable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Positive attitude and a willingness to help wherever needed. You will work alongside a supportive team who values communication, accountability, and teamwork. A strong emphasis is placed on positive office culture and giving back to our community as a team.

We are looking for someone who wants to become an important part of our practice—not simply process claims. The right person will help us improve our insurance processes, reduce billing errors, ensure patients understand their benefits, and help our doctors and staff provide an excellent overall patient experience.

Pay:
