Medical Biller /
Coder Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Biller / Coder to join our team. You'll be responsible for reviewing medical records, assigning accurate codes, and submitting claims to insurance companies for reimbursement. You'll also follow up on unpaid claims and work with insurance companies to resolve issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Review patient charts and medical records Assign accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for diagnoses and procedures Ensure coding meets federal and insurance regulations Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies Verify patient insurance and eligibility Track claim status and follow up on denials or rejections Correct billing errors and resubmit claims as needed Post payments and reconcile accounts Work with providers and staff to ensure documentation supports claims Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with
HIPAA Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required Certification in medical coding (CPC, CCS, or equivalent) preferred 1+ years of experience in medical billing or coding Familiar with EHR systems and billing software Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance guidelines, and coding practices Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Good communication and organizational skills
