7:30 AM-5:30 PM Some Saturdays required Flexible schedule required Must be willing to work at different clinic locations as needed Position Overview XL Pro Staffing and Consulting is seeking an experienced Billing / Collections Specialist to join a busy medical office team. This position is responsible for managing patient accounts, processing and reviewing medical billing information, verifying insurance coverage and benefits, submitting claims to insurance providers, and following up on unpaid, denied, or outstanding balances. The Billing / Collections Specialist will communicate with patients and insurance companies regarding billing questions, payment arrangements, claim status, and account discrepancies while maintaining accurate records and supporting timely collections in accordance with office policies and insurance requirements. Responsibilities Prepare and submit accurate medical billing claims using appropriate coding systems, including CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG codes . Review medical records and supporting documentation to ensure proper coding and billing compliance. Verify patient information, insurance benefits, authorizations, and medical documentation before and after patient visits. Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits. Review claims for accuracy and completeness prior to submission. Follow up on unpaid, outstanding, or denied insurance claims. Resubmit corrected claims and supporting documentation when necessary. Communicate with insurance providers regarding claim status, denials, discrepancies, and reimbursement. Communicate professionally with patients regarding billing questions, balances, and payment arrangements. Maintain detailed and accurate records of billing activities, claim status updates, payments, and correspondence with insurance providers. Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve documentation or coding discrepancies that may affect reimbursement. Assist with medical collections and insurance claim follow-up. Support revenue cycle management and timely collection of outstanding balances. Stay current with changes to ICD coding standards, insurance requirements, and medical billing regulations. Perform additional billing and collections duties as assigned. Requirements Proven experience in a medical office environment , with knowledge of medical billing and coding processes. Strong understanding of

ICD-10, ICD-9, CPT

coding, DRG classifications, and medical terminology . Experience with EMR/EHR systems and medical billing software . Knowledge of health insurance claim processing and third-party billing. Understanding of revenue cycle management and medical collections. Ability to accurately review and interpret medical records while following applicable coding guidelines. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts and priorities. Previous experience with medical collections or insurance claim follow-up is a plus. Must have flexibility to work at multiple clinic locations as needed. Saturday availability required.
