This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and billing software systems, translating complex medical data into precise billing information. Your expertise will directly impact the financial health of the organization while supporting seamless patient care. Duties Review laboratory test orders and verify all billing information aligns with medical records and lab reports Apply appropriate coding such as CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) and ICD-10 to ensure accurate reimbursement Enter billing data into billing software systems accurately and efficiently, maintaining up-to-date records. Track for successful submission and timely follow ups Collaborate/contact with medical staff at clinic or patient to - clarify documentation discrepancies, collect missing information (ICD 10, medication list etc), conduct verification of benefits, etc - for coverage and meeting medical necessity. Manage collections related to unpaid or denied laboratory bills through follow-up procedures through patient bills. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and insurance requirements during the billing process Generate weekly & monthly detailed reports on billing activities, denials, and collections to support financial analysis Requirements Proven experience in medical billing, preferably within a laboratory or diagnostic setting - with focus on blood work, drug screening & confirmation billing. Strong knowledge of medical coding including CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG classifications Familiarity with EMR and EHR systems used for medical records management Excellent understanding of medical terminology and laboratory procedures Ability to interpret medical records accurately for proper billing and coding purposes Experience with medical collection processes and insurance claim submissions Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently Join us in delivering exceptional healthcare support through meticulous laboratory billing!
