DIESEL MECHANIC
Paramount Diesel Parts & Services Houston, Texas Full-Time $28•38 per hour, based on experience Paramount Diesel Parts & Services is hiring experienced Diesel Mechanics to service and repair medium•and heavy-duty diesel trucks. We are looking for dependable professionals who can diagnose problems accurately, complete repairs efficiently, and consistently produce high-quality work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, fuel, cooling, and air-system problems Repair and service diesel engines and related components Perform preventive maintenance and complete vehicle inspections Troubleshoot difficult problems using appropriate diagnostic procedures Review work orders and confirm required repairs with management Document findings, labor performed, and parts used Verify repair quality before returning vehicles to customers Complete work safely and according to company standards Maintain a clean and organized work area Protect customer vehicles, company equipment, and assigned repair parts Communicate repair progress, additional findings, and delays promptly
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Professional diesel repair experience Experience working on medium•or heavy-duty trucks Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability Ability to complete assigned repairs with limited supervision Must own and maintain the ordinary professional tools required to perform diesel repairs Ability to use diagnostic equipment and repair information Dependable attendance and professional attitude Commitment to safety, quality, and accurate documentation Ability to work independently and as part of a team Valid driver's license
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: Diesel engine diagnostics and repair Engine rebuilding and major engine work Electrical and electronic troubleshooting Fuel and injection systems Cooling systems Air-brake systems Suspension and steering Emissions and aftertreatment systems Preventive maintenance and DOT inspections Medium•and heavy-duty truck repair Bilingual English/Spanish is helpful but not required. TOOLS The mechanic must own, maintain, and bring the ordinary professional hand and power tools necessary to perform diesel repairs. Paramount Diesel provides designated specialty, diagnostic, lifting, and large shop equipment.
COMPENSATION
$28•38 per hour, based on experience, diagnostic ability, productivity, and qualifications Additional productivity-and-quality incentives may be available under the company's written incentive plan Overtime opportunities may be available according to workload and company scheduling
