Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities Prepare, review, and submit medical claims using billing software and EMR/EHR systems, ensuring accuracy in coding with CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), and ICD coding standards. Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility to facilitate smooth claims processing. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection strategies and resolve discrepancies promptly. Maintain detailed records of medical billing activities, including documentation of payments, adjustments, and appeals. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper documentation of medical records and accurate coding for services rendered. Stay current with healthcare claims management regulations, health insurance policies, and updates in medical terminology to ensure compliance. Utilize Microsoft Office tools for reporting, data analysis, and communication purposes to support billing operations. Qualifications Proven experience in medical billing with a solid understanding of medical office workflows and billing procedures. Strong knowledge of medical coding including CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems, DRG classifications, and ICD coding standards. Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records) platforms for efficient claim processing. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients. Knowledge of health insurance policies, healthcare claims management processes, and medical records documentation requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel for data entry and reporting purposes. Ability to interpret complex medical terminology accurately and apply it appropriately during billing procedures.
