Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating timely reimbursement from insurance providers. This role requires a thorough understanding of medical billing procedures, coding systems, and medical records management. The Medical Biller plays a crucial part in maintaining the financial health of our practice while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Prior experience with EMR and EHR systems is highly desirable. Duties Prepare and submit claims using
DRG, CPT
coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards Review medical records to ensure accuracy and completeness for billing purposes Verify insurance coverage and patient eligibility prior to claim submission Follow up on unpaid claims and perform collections as needed to resolve outstanding balances Maintain detailed documentation of billing activities within EMR/EHR systems Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses or procedures requiring additional information Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations related to medical billing and coding Reconcile accounts receivable and generate reports on billing status and collection efforts Qualifications Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or related healthcare administrative roles Strong knowledge of
DRG, CPT
coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems Familiarity with medical terminology and medical records management Experience working with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems Excellent understanding of medical billing processes and insurance claim procedures Ability to interpret complex medical documentation accurately Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Knowledge of medical collection practices and compliance regulations is preferred This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to our healthcare operations by ensuring accurate billing processes while supporting patient care.
