Full-Time Ward Clerk Canyon Springs Post Acute is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Full-Time Ward Clerk to join our nursing team. This position plays an essential role in supporting nursing operations by maintaining accurate medical records, assisting with administrative tasks, and ensuring documentation complies with all federal, state, and facility regulations. Compensation $20.00-$22.00 per hour , based on experience Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off (PTO) Paid holidays 401(k) retirement plan Employee assistance program Opportunities for professional growth and advancement Supportive team environment Position Summary The Ward Clerk assists the Nurse Supervisor and Charge Nurse with the daily recording, charting, and organization of medical and administrative information. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate and complete medical records while supporting the nursing department with clerical and communication needs to help ensure the delivery of exceptional resident care. Essential Responsibilities Maintain accurate and timely resident medical records and documentation Assist the Nurse Supervisor and Charge Nurse with daily clerical and administrative duties Prepare, organize, file, and update resident charts and records Process physician orders and ensure documentation is complete and accurate Answer telephones and communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and staff Coordinate the flow of information between departments to support resident care Ensure all records comply with federal, state, and facility regulations Maintain confidentiality of resident information in accordance with HIPAA standards Perform other administrative duties as assigned by nursing leadership Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Previous experience as a Ward Clerk, Unit Secretary, Medical Records Clerk, or in a healthcare administrative role is preferred Experience in a skilled nursing or post-acute care setting is a plus Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills Excellent verbal and written communication abilities Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and basic computer applications Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team Why Join Canyon Springs Post Acute?
