Reauthorization Assistant Healthwise Pharmacy Greenville, NC Job Details Full-time 4 hours ago Benefits Health savings account Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Employee discount Qualifications Record keeping Computer operation Microsoft Excel Microsoft Outlook Medical scheduling Decision making Patient interaction Technical Proficiency Full Job Description Description of Responsibilities The reauthorization specialist is responsible for assisting the infusion department in all areas to ensure the specialty intake department runs smooth and efficiently. The reauthorization specialist will assist with medication changes, dose changes, and establishing patient services through free drug programs. Responsibilities of the Authorization Specialist Assistant include the following: 1. Intake information from referral sources and patients in a professional, knowledgeable, and courteous manner. 2. Manage faxes. 3. Enter new referrals, new lines for drug, does, frequency, insurance changes, and when authorizations expire. 4. Ensure new hold note is entered in the system so Authorization Coordinators know not to fill prescription. 5. Upload all documents to CareTend, Vital Care, and One Drive. 6. Ensure all prescriptions and prior authorizations are accurate and complete and fax to providers office. 7. Maintain and Update drug, provider, and infusion entity spreadsheets and ensure new patient appointments are put on the calendars. 8. Answering of telephone-ensuring patient questions concerning bills, appointments, and insurance changes. 9. Track all financial forms and patient appointments to ensure medications are shipped out. 10. Creating, compiling, and completing patient charts; care plan, demographics, medications, allergies, outcomes processing, ancillary provider, financial contract, PAP, and any other information needed. 11. Completing and ensuring all financial contracts are sent out and entered into CareTend. 12. Contact patients to see if they have same/new insurance and entering new line into the system if new insurance information is obtained. 13. Review spreadsheets for upcoming month to pull any expiring authorizations and/or prescriptions. 14. Contact nursing staff to schedule appointments and ensure all nursing notes have been updated on the calendars and spreadsheets. 15. Review reimbursements and ensure they were entered correctly. 16. Reach out to patients to let them know approval/denial was received for PAP, etc. 17. Ordering of free drugs for our free drug patients either by phone, fax, or online. 18. Removing alert notes as the duties have been completed or sent back to keep all records up to date. Minimum Qualifications 1. Organizational skills sufficient to maintain consistently accurate records. 2. Ability to evaluate options and to make efficient decisions. 3. Computer skills that include proficiency in Microsoft applications including word, excel and outlook as well as efficient use of internet and e-mail.
