Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Pediatric Dental Assistant with an NJ Radiology License, where your skills will directly contribute to providing exceptional patient care at a top-tier, privately owned pediatric dental practice. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing your expertise in dental assisting, radiology, and medical documentation. Duties Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following infection control protocols and aseptic techniques Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry Take high-quality X-ray images using the NJ Radiology License and ensure accurate medical imaging documentation in EMR systems such as Dentrix Support four-handed dentistry by handing instruments efficiently and maintaining a clean, organized workspace Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care instructions, and preventive practices to promote oral health awareness Experience Proven experience working as a dental assistant in a dental office environment, preferably with pediatric patients Valid NJ Radiology License with demonstrated proficiency in taking and processing dental X-rays Strong knowledge of computer systems such as Dentrix for managing electronic health records and medical documentation Understanding of HIPAA regulations, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment Competence in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, the ability to accurately document procedures and support billing processes Experience assisting with specialized areas such as pediatric dentistry is preferred, but not mandatory Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with our young patients and their parents/guardians, ensuring comfort and understanding throughout their visit Join us to be part of a vibrant team dedicated to excellence in pediatric dental care!
